Yamaha R6 2005 Specification

 

 

 

The first bike we used for competing in the 600cc classes was a Yamaha R6 2005 model and having achieved a great deal of success in 2006 (the first year competing on this bike), we continued to use this machine for the most part of 2007 until the development of the current bike (2006 2CO model).

 

The 2005 R6 was a fantastic bike out of the crate and was very competitive for most of the 2006 season with only some basic modifications (race exhaust, Power Commander, GPR damper and Penske rear shock).  Later on in the 2006 season, it had the benefit of some engine work and a few other chassis mods.  For 2007, the engine remained unchanged other than a slipper clutch and lightweight generator, with the chassis gaining WP fork internals.  It was with this specification that it competed in four rounds of the British Supersport series.
